Vonoprazan 20 mg is a prescription medicine used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach. It belongs to a newer class of acid-suppressing medicines called potassium-competitive acid blockers
Uses:
- Treatment of Gastroesophageal reflux disease
- Healing of reflux esophagitis (damage to the food pipe caused by acid)
- Treatment of gastric (stomach) and duodenal ulcers
- Used with antibiotics to treat Helicobacter pylori infection.
Common side effects:
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Indigestion
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Headache (less common)
